Hi I have been cyber stalked for the past few months now. Only me and my friends know because they are going through this too. They have been tracking my computer and know my info like my real name. They have been contacting me through minecraft on my server. I have fought against them in game Banning them multiple times. What should I do I don’t think they know I’m just a little kid and is leaving a permanent scar on me. I have felt very over protective. How can I stop them

I’m sorry to hear that this happened to you Hlee. I too am being cyberstalked/stalked. Nobody understands how traumatizing it is. I don’t understand what their reasons are for doing what they do. Even if I didn’t like someone I would never do to them what they have done to me.

Thanks for sharing your story. That man needs some serious mental help. What a terrible time you’ve gone through. I feel for you. I hope he never bothers you again.

I’m being stalked online too, but nothing like what you’ve gone through…at least not yet. I’d quit a job a few years back, because I couldn’t take my controlling boss any longer. At first he was great, caring and generous, but he quickly revealed that he was jealous, manipulative, and abusive. My husband and I think he may have even bugged our home as he seemed to know things my family and I talked about in private, but we never found proof of that.

I didn’t hear from him for a few years and then we reconnected in the spring. I foolishly decided that maybe I was wrong about him and gave him another chance. I desperately needed the job. So I started working for him again, and he was cool to me and let me go after only a month as if to punish me.

The relationship should have ended there for good, but he’s still silently watching my personal website, where I publish my personal news, almost every day.

I suppose it’s possible that he has watched me all of these years we’ve been apart. I don’t know as my server logs don’t go back that far. But I do know that he has been watching me for the past year.

After reading your story and some other stalking stories, I’m now worried that his stalking will escalate, because it seems to me that after some point this is what usually happens in these cases.

Over the past 5 years I have been stalked for my pictures. I’ve found more than 8 websites using my pictures. I just found out today that the person using my pictures has been dating a guy for 2-1/2 years online, he found me after doing a internet search for one of my photos and finding my real name next to my photo. What can I do to stop this person? I’ve had multiple sites deleted over the past 5 years but cant keep up with this person. They have a larger collection of my pictures than I do. Is there a law that should protect me if I found out the identity of this person? They have used my photos on adult friend finder sites and and portrayed me as things I am not. Any advice?

As sometimes occurs, a person may not really be aware of what cyberstalking truly is, and open themselves up to a defamation lawsuit. An example might be not taking advantage of the security settings on a social networking site. Whereas they give everyone access. They might be guilty of being overly curious but by law, not commit a crime. It is your and my responsibility to read the disclosure

I hope that, once your cyber-stalker is convicted, that you sue him right down to his last pair of pants. In fact, I hope your lawyer is so litigious that your cyber-stalker’s descendents, direct and non-direct, will still be paying for his mistakes 200 years from now!

I must post this anonymously because of the severe stalking that has been going on around me. I believe the people who are doing it are getting worse. They began by taking my blog and creating a mirror blog from it and mocked my person and my family. THey stole pictures of my family and my daughter’s children and put them in other locations on the web. They constantly call me a racist and a bigot. My stat counter shows that the spend hours and hours downloading my blog and stealing pictures. WHy would someone be so obsessed? Please do not post my email.

I came to read your article about the stalking experience because I have been stalked as well. I sometimes read articles to make sure I am not going crazy — that stalkers are real and not in my imaginatioin.

The reason I am writing you is to say thank you: for sharing your experience and especially for sharing your heart. You have restored my faith in people. There really ARE good people still!
