A new state law to expand cyber harassment to social networks
A new state law in Maryland could pass to expand cyber harassment to social networks, currently it is limited to email only. It is important to know that, cyber harassment already exists in social networks and acoss all different types of media outlets including cell phones. This law ought to pass and other states should follow suit in order to prevent cyberstalkers from doing more harm.
The current law says you can be charged with a misdemeanor and sentenced to up to one year in prison or fined $500.
Last summer, a 13-year-old Maryland girl became the target of former friends who put up a fake MySpace page depicting her as a crazy, drunken, promiscuous girl.
Kids can be cruel, and some parents say it’s time for Maryland law to address cyber bullying.
Police protection from cyber harassment in Maryland is limited to e-mail.
Under House bill 580, that protection would expand to any electronic communication, including social networking sites and online postings. - wtop.com

Timmy Richardson and members of this social network used these sites to stalk, harass and bully me and other people. I have since contacted several agency for help. With no real laws in place and the indirectness of the attacks made against me it would be hard to prosecute but I want to pass on the info to this site as well because of the death threats and sexual nature of the assault made against me.

I have reason to believe I have been indirectly targeted harassed, bullied, and stalked via the internet by Timmy Richardson (www.timmyrichardsonpresents.com) who is an administrator of a huge music social network (www.deephousepage.com.) and his followers also from that network.
He and I had an encounter this year May/June to which I stopped communicating with him in June.
I first noted that when I would post on facebook, my post would be followed by a derogatory comment by him. After I deleted him, I noted that my posts were being followed with derogatory comments by one of his followers. I also noted that when I went into my friend’s internet radio chat that a group of Timmy Richardson’s friends entered and again were making inappropriate comments to taught me.
I learned after my encounter with Timmy Richardson that he had been posting topics that I could directly relate to our encounter from back in May on his facebook and http://www.timmyrichardsonpresents webpage and then either making reference to what he was posting and trying again to bring attention to me through ideas in is internet radio show and other posts he made to let his followers know who he was targeting to target me also. When I confronted him about it he replied that it was my delusional ego making me think he posts things about my life. I stopped all communications with him but noticed he was still posting topics that I could directly relate to my myspace, facebook or even my travels in the real world. I tried to delete him and his networks from my myspace and facebook but noted for example if I posted a song “You Are The Sunshine of My Life” he would then post a song with a negative undertone, “Here Comes The Sun”. He also would post album covers on http://www.deephousepage.com and timmyrichardson presents in relation to my activities in real life for example, he posted an album cover of the beach the day after I was at the beach on Coney Island then another time he posted an album cover that was title “out of site but in plain view” when I closed out my facebook account due to the harassment” and was seen at an event in the city by one of the harassers. He and his friends also post jokes and songs about me working hard, being a nurse and single parent again bringing more attention to me.
He has used Micheal Jackson’s death as a metaphor on the site when speaking of why they think I (Micheal) should die. Again bringing attention to me so that his follower will know who he is references who should die. It appears to me he tried to justify his behavior in relation to his constantly using me indirectly as a topic of discussion or music on his page by accusing me of taking peoples publishing money. I have received electronic activity streams that pop up on my page that were making reference to suicide and that I should live my life to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised. I have also been harassed by other artists who states on his activity stream for example that there is nothing I can do about it. Not to waste time with lawyers or attorneys. The original harasser is friends with this artist and although he does not use my name, he continuously changes his status to fit the description of the harassment and bullying I have been experiencing.
Timmy Richardson also uses codes on http://www.deephousepage.com to let his followers know when to move, when he is planning an attack by for example stating “I am in the mood today.” He posted a mash up song in mid-june that he entitled “no one’s going to love the liberian girl” as a way to get his follower dj’s to play the song to deter me from going anywhere or doing anything. There are people in the neighborhood that are dj or into music and people do know where I live. I am afraid that someone may try to act on what he has been telling his followers to do to me.
I fear for my safety only because he seems to have a form of mind control over these people.
This is very organized and they do not use my name at all but he uses enough metaphors and descriptions to give others idea of who he is speaking of.
There have been numerous waves of attacks since this all began. He has even posted embarassing information to which he has definitely caused me great pain and I have been the subject of numerous jokes online and off in public and online.
I am not able to go out socially like before without having someone approach me making sexual gestures or comments. I have also received death threats and again indirect statements on changes in activities streams on myspace that for example “John committed suicide, I’m still standing” RIP.
I have been informed that he intends to keep on harassing and following me through his “spies” and posting indirectly about me negatively on these networks. That I should not waste time reporting him to authorities. I have since shut down my text messaging due to receipt of several messages in reference to dating online with sexually explicit messages from sources off the internet that I was unable to track.
I have read on http://www.deephousepage.com that it is the most vicious attack on an individual in their history of the website and then they cheer Timmy Richardson on ,put up mock sorry letters from Micheal Jackson again which is a metaphor for me and also cheer Deephouse page for a job well done.
They seem to know that I am watching what they are saying and trying to make some attempt to get help by the fact that I read on there that people have opted out of posting on http://www.deephousepage.com and post on facebook instead to keep authorities or myself from tracking what they are plotting.
This has been the most humiliating thing causing me to lose sleep, not eat, fear going out, even change my identity online and dress in disguise to go to the store in my town.
I have heard that he connected all of this with his twitter account also making it easier for people to report what I am doing online and in public.
I am asking for help in monitor or attempting to stop this person from doing this to me or anyone else. I have been told that this is not the first time they have done this to someone causing that person to commit suicide. I am not sure whether to take the death threats as online childish games but they seem pretty real although not direct.
There has to be something someone can do to help me. There are bigger threats now when people gang up on facebook, myspace and other social networks to target with intent to cause harm. There has to be more that can be done.
